Well, the waiting's over! Time to announce my number 1 favourite pic of 2017. Entitled 'The girl in the gallery', this image was captured during a visit to the Ulster Museum in July, and as is often the case with good photos, I was in the right place at the right time, with my camera at the ready. When those three elements come together, the resultant image can be rather special!
Number 2 in my 'Top 10' of 2017 is this pic of the 'Top 2' girls in my life, captured during a walk at Roe Valley Country Park, with our dog 'Peanut' in tow! Most people don't like getting their photo taken, but I really like this shot because of the natural expressions - and 'Peanut' seems pretty happy too!

The photograph was taken with an Fujifilm X-T1, coupled with an XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS lens,. The settings were f/4.5 1/140s ISO200.
My Top 10 Photos of 2017 - Number 3
On this first day of the New Year I'm sharing my top 3 pics of 2017, and at number 3 is 'The old pathway' - a monochrome image captured in the grounds of Springhill House, Moneymore. The sun was low in the sky, so the light was perfect to bring out the jagged outline of the holly leaves. Zooming in with a moderate aperture setting ensured the holly stood out against the out-of-focus background.

Although the original image was colour, I felt a vintage black and white effect worked better. This was added via Lightroom. (Camera: Fujifilm X-T1. Lens: XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS. Settings: f/5.6 1/160s ISO200)
